Reading: This week, we continued our study of how to identify the main idea in text. Ask your student to tell you the 3 steps a thoughtful reader takes to find the main idea!
Math: We began our fractions unit this week and the students are off to a great start! Ask your student to show you how to add fractions when the denominators are the same.
Writing: We began our unit on persuasive writing this week. I started it off by asking them about the tactics they use to persuade their parents to do something...WOW, they had some pretty tricky thoughts! Ask your student about the belief statement that they chose to write about!

Valentines Day Parties, February 12th, 2:30-3:30. If students are planning on bringing in valentines for friends this day, we ask that they bring one for each of their classmates. A list of our classmates's names will be sent home next week. Students may also create a valentine bag or box to bring to school on the 12th. Be CREATIVE!

Parent /Teacher conferences are coming up! They will be scheduled for the week of February 9th. I am looking forward to meeting you all of you to share how all of your students are progressing! Please click on the link below to sign-up for a conference time.
